Finally guys!!! After 2 years of working on it, finally its done.. my first album ever. I have grown into a different sound over the past 2 years that the fidget album I started wasn’t no longer representing me anymore. I therefore started the new version and well I’m happy with it.
This album will show you not only the usual loud banging tracks I do, but a more inside peek into who I am. I started out producing techno and listening to guys like Laurent Garnier a lot! You will find stuff influenced by this on the album too.
THE UNEXPECTED will be released on Legacy Kids Club but the singles will also be dropped on several labels like Wearhouse, Boemklatsch, Klientelle, NEWS (Midnight Munchies) and more.

Don’t think anybody heard from Epic Jackson before but that might change real soon!
We got a little interview with him and also a nice mixtape!
It look’s like you just come right out of nowhere, can you tell us who or what you are?
My name is Epic Jackson and i’ve been floating in this universe for some time now, and in that time i have watched and collect all things around me, danced my ass off back in the 80’s, created art, made music and just having a blast with all my friends until it was time to return the favor and show myself!
And what is it that you are going to show?
That’s kinda hard to say in words and better to just sit and wait and see what’s coming!But to give you an idea, just imagine all cool things that your mind can think of and blend that together.
It’s just me taking you into my world and give you that party that you always wanted and take you for a ride on my bike and at the same time hearing analog synth sounds from the 80’s through your head and bringing you into another dimension.
Talking about the 80’s what are your influences?
Lot’s of stuff and not only music wise, but to start off with that it goes from Charlie Parker who learned me to drink whisky and milk, Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder,Green Velvet, Aphex Twin, Underground Resistance but also lot’s of new stuff like Erol Alkan,Boys Noize,Zombie Nation,Vitalic ,Tiga & Crookers who are good friends and mean a lot to me and make the best pasta but that’s a whole different story so to get back to the question i also dig bands as Hot Chip,LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax and stuff like that or more downtempo stuff like Holy Ghost & Aeroplane!
There is just so much good stuff and not only in the music industry but also at the art front, so there’s no real reason to get bored these day’s.
So that means you are also busy at the moment?
Yeah like i said it’s time to return the favor so i’m working in the studio on my first ep that will have two tracks and maybe a very cool remix but i can’t say anything about that at the moment, so just keep your eyes open for that and there will also going to be lot’s of cool artwork that takes you too that dimension i was talking about.
What is it you like to do when your not in the studio?
Having as much fun as i can and beside that i’m also a big sports fan, specially icehockey which is the best game in the world so i like to watch some NHL games and i also like to play golf but i prefer to take that outside the course and make some big hitters from rooftops and when it’s getting dark i like to take my fixed gear bike and spin into the night with my ipod and get new ideas in my head!
What’s up with the glasses?
That has something to do with my eyes, which means that i see things in a different way and back in the day when i was a little kid my mom gave me those 3D glasses and it felt real good and from that day i just never took them off.
You made a mixtape can you tell anything about that?
The mixtape is what you can expect from me, specially when i’m playing at a club.
It’s packed with stuff that i like and starts of with some disco flavored beats and 80’s & Chicago influenced stuff and i also like to add some old tunes just to remind you where this shit is coming from and build things up getting more heavy so you have to go and look for your ass at the end of the night cos there’s a big chance you danced it off!

FOKTOP! IN SUGAR FACTORY VRIJDAG 16 APRIL
Wie noemt z’n feest nou Foktop!? Dat is toch foktop? Precies. Op vrijdag 16 april is Foktop! terug in de Sugar Factory in Amsterdam met de funk en hoe.
Foktop! is de naam van het platenlabel dat DJ Rockid onlangs lanceerde. Dit label biedt ruimte voor dj’s/producers die hun ruige, hiphoppende straathouse willen infiltreren in het nieuwe tijdperk van muziek zonder regels. Alle muzikale invloeden mogen aanwezig zijn, als het maar grooved, beukt, swingt en hopt. En dat is precies de insteek van het feestje. Benieuwd naar de mannen op het Foktop! podium 16 april? De naam Quinten 909 roept direct vraagtekens op; is het een man of een machine? Zijn release ‘Sophia’ die begin maart de weg naar het publiek vond via het GirlsLoveDJs label geeft daar niet direct antwoord op, maar zet wel de toon. Verwacht vuige disco electro met Amsterdams elan. Oliver Twizt staat niet bekend omdat hij zo een lieverdje is. Wel omdat zijn tracks internationaal in de smaak vallen. Mad Decent is down, Maluca is down, Foktop is down. De kolen worden heet, tijd om te dansen. DJ Rockid manifesteert zich de laatste jaren tot een van de meest vindingsrijke en hardwerkende producers van Nederland. Als Foktop Records ‘baws’ zet hij een steeds grotere stempel op de what’s en what not’s in de scene. Naast muziek houdt Robin (zoals hij in het echt heet) van grote auto’s en mooie spullen.
Nick & Black zijn relatieve nieuwkomers in de DJ-booth. Het Rotterdamse duo schijnt zo hard, dat het tot in Amsterdam te voelen is. De positieve vibes van Nick & Black worden gebalanceerd door hun rauwe draaistijl. Onder het pseudoniem The Scotty Pippens zijn ze actief bezig met eigen producties. Dan Stezo is de MC van de avond. De meest bescheiden MC van Nederland heeft een staat van dienst waar menigeen MC jaloers op kan zijn. Hij deed ‘het’ op plekken als Moskou, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong en Barcelona met namen als Goldie, Skream, Jesse Rose, Riva Starr en het hele Nederlandse gepeupel. Ya dunno. VJ Venour is een driemancollectief wat de naam niet doet vermoeden. Met o.a. Belony doen ze leuke dingen op de regionale TV en zijn ze klaar voor nationale stappen. Deze visualizers zijn medeverantwoordelijk voor het artwork van Foktop!
